Asian Alliance Radiation & Oncology (AARO) is a Singapore Oncology Specialist Group focusing on targeted and non-invasive technologies for cancer treatment.
AARO established Singapore’s first independent Radiotherapy Practice in 2015, led by highly-trained and experienced radiation oncologists from the National Cancer Center Singapore, who also developed the first Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) programs in Spine, Prostate, and Liver cancers in South-East Asia.
AARO also provides general oncology services focusing on wellness, prevention, cancer survivorship and specialised programs to manage cancer treatment side effects.
Today, with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists and healthcare professionals from various Cancer Centers in Singapore who are well-versed in the latest cancer treatments and trends, AARO is able to provide best practices and care for our patients.

On 24 June 2026, a strategic alliance was formalised between AARO and MMCH — marking half a century of compassionate cancer care and opening a new era for the region.
As MMCH’s Mission Partner, AARO will manage and operate the Hospital’s oncology services, bringing our Radiosurgery and Oncology management expertise from Singapore to Penang through the newly launched 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 (𝗠𝗠𝗖𝗦𝗥).
We are honoured to walk alongside an institution whose 50-year legacy of compassionate, accessible cancer care aligns with our own mission of creating access to quality and personalised cancer care.
Together, we will work hard to harness technology to enable hope — reestablishing Mount Miriam as the home of world-class cancer care for every patient across Penang and northern Malaysia.

Father Simon Pereira has spent 𝟰𝟴 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 — as a priest, a counsellor, and a light to many. When he was diagnosed with 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝟰 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀, he faced his greatest personal challenge with the same quiet faith and grace he had offered to so many others.
His journey is a testament to faith, resilience — and to the family and medical team who walked alongside of him.

It was a great privilege to be part of the world's leading Congress for radiosurgery practitioners, held at the International Convention Centre, Sydney, Australia — where radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, and medical physicists gathered to share the very latest in precision radiation across oncology, neurosurgery, pain management, and even cardiac arrhythmias.
Our own Dr Daniel Tan, a member of the Board of Directors of the ISRS, was an invited faculty on the Spine Panel. He presented on the fascinating journey of spine radiosurgery — from its origins as a highly precise radiation technique to becoming an essential tool in the neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgery field.
